Welcome to ‘aleastory’

On this website you will find the chartered journey of me: Qfwfq

Formally, I am known as Aleastory, and on making new acquaintances I introduce myself as such.

So a little bit about myself:

I am a text.

Some may call me a script, however I find the word to have too many ‘linear’ and self-contained connotations: instead I like to think of myself as eclectic. Like a snow ball plummeting down a hill, I have gathered many possessions on my journey, some by accident others by the kind generosity of willing enablers and, on occasion, by dint of my own tumbling thoughts.

What is my purpose?

The answer to that is twofold: one being rather selfish; the other, I’d like to think, on account of my desire to share.

I dislike, as much as the next person, this wanky (pardon my French) notion of  ‘finding oneself’; whether through travelling far and wide on pre-planned package excursions to ‘test myself’ against the trials and tribulations of loneliness and unfamiliarity – or stripping away the various layers of  ‘culture’ we tend to accumulate, in order to get a “better look” of ourselves in the mirror.

Quite the contrary, in fact; it is not my intention to find myself at all, but let others do it for me; uncover me in whatever manner they wish – untainted by any preconceptions I may feel inclined to enforce to (delusionally) protect myself from the wrath of the ‘Other’ and his/her intepretation.

Do not mistake this for a “I don’t give a toss what people think of me; I’ll dress and act like a want to!” rant: I am in fact very concerned with the findings of my newfound friends. But not as a matter of self-consciousness – more to satisfy my curiosity:

The question is not “How do you read me?” in a “So, what do you think of Qfwfq? I’m not sure I like him…” kind of way: It’s more like:

“How can you read me? And why is this so?”

My realm is Potential because, afterall, what is ‘actual’ other than what is constructed in the mind of the interpretant?

Enough rambling: it’s a habit I must avoid, and one you’ll too often have to negotiate.

• To observe my genetic code, go to the page labelled “Genesis”; here you can see the parts that make (really?) the whole.
• On the right hand side of this page, there is a “Categories” menu. In here, under my name, will be the various ramblings of this nomadic fool; and those invited to contribute (more lucidly, I imagine)
• The categories are subdivided to account for each of my relationships.
• For further (boring) information on what the bungalow this is all about visit the “About” page (pretty self-explanatory, I hope)
• The “alea theatre” page is my little side project: driven by my findings here…I hope to present the fruits of my labour. It’s early days mind…
