Poppy Corbett is a writer, director and performer who gained an MA in Advanced Theatre Practice from the Central School of Speech and Drama. She gained a BA (Hons) in English and Drama from Royal Holloway, University of London and has also trained in Russia at the prestigious Moscow Art Theatre School (MXAT) in Acting, Michael Chekhov Technique, Stage Movement and Ballet. She has recently studied Advances in Scriptwriting at RADA.
Her writing tutors have included Stephen Jeffreys, Simon Stephens, April de Angelis, Duncan Macmillan and Mike Punter.

For three years Poppy has worked for Charles Vance Productions as DSM for the thirteen week summer repertory season at the Manor Pavillion, Sidmouth. Last summer she Co-Produced and Stage-Managed the entire season as well as directing Murder On Arrival and Agatha Christie’s Murder On Arrival.
Poppy has also worked as a Speech and Drama tutor for children aged 5-18 at Theatre Studio, Cheltenham Playhouse, and Point Blank Music College where she wrote OMG! an urban musical performed by teenagers at the Millfield Theatre in Enfield. She is currently writing a Pocket Book of Drama Games for teachers of 8-11 year olds which will be published by Philip and Tacey.
Poppy is an Associate Director with the company :DELIRIUM: and co-wrote and co-directed their show ‘Your Nation Loves You,’ performed in the Old Vic Tunnels. She is looking forward to continuing her work with the company as they have recently become supported artists of the Pegasus Theatre, Oxford.
Poppy is a proud co-founder of Alea Theatre.
She has worked in film, radio and television and is interested in new writing, clowning and voice and movement training.
